Mission

Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a public policy research institute, whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. Our expert staff - with years of experience in business, government and on Capitol Hill - don't just produce research. We generate solutions consistent with our beliefs and market them to the Congress, the Executive Branch, the news media, and others. Our vision is to build an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity and civil society flourish.
