Mission
The Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), founded in 1968, is the official charitable foundation of Lions Clubs International. LCIF enables Lions to tackle global problems such as blindness and hearing loss and respond to major catastrophes such as earthquakes and floods. LCIF also helps Lions serve their local communities by partnering with them to build schools, health clinics and vocational training centers for the disabled. LCIF helps people to lead healthier and more productive lives. It nurtures the potential of youth by building schools and supporting the life-skills program Lions Quest. It also promotes health by building and equipping medical clinics, and serves the elderly by constructing senior citizen centers. Since LCIF began, it has awarded 9,000 grants totaling US$640 million.
