Mission
The Virginia Beach SPCA, founded in 1966, works to promote a humane community and to prevent cruelty to animals. Last year, the Virginia Beach SPCA sheltered over 6,194 animals, and provided adoption, spaying and neutering services. We provided humane education to over 27,115 children, and pet therapy to over 11,200 community residents. We provided other services to our community, including wildlife rehabilitation and rescue, programs to reduce violence among children and adults, and operation of a subsidized veterinary medical clinic for low income households.
