Mission

Founded in 1916 to fight tuberculosis, the American Lung Association of Florida is the lead organization in the state working to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Lung disease death rates continue to increase while other leading causes of death have declined. The American Lung Association of Florida funds vital research on the causes of and treatments for lung disease. The Association provides critical programs and services designed to reach residents of all ages. From our Open Airways for Schools to our Freedom From Smoking program, the Lung Association provides an important service to the almost two million Floridians suffering from lung disease.
