Mission

The Portland Schools Foundation is an independent, community-based organization that mobilizes ideas, leadership, political support, and money necessary to ensure a first-rate education for every child, in every public school, in every Portland neighborhood. Our vision is to ensure that every young person in Portland is prepared for college, work, and citizenship. The Schools Foundation works in two ways to help the community and schools develop and implement strategies to achieve this vision: mobilizing our community by increasing public understanding and engaging the community to ensure all young people succeed in college, work, and citizenship; and supporting excellent teaching and learning by supporting innovations to promote equity and excellence in public education.
