Mission

The Heat and Warmth (THAW) Fund is an independent agency that provides low-income individuals and families with emergency energy assistance and advocates for long-term solutions to energy issues. Since its inception in 1986, THAW has provided more than $58.8 million in assistance to more than 115,200 Michigan households, including elderly, unemployed, underemployed, disabled individuals who found themselves in temporary crisis. During the 2006-2007 heating season, THAW distributed more than $9,528,000 in energy assistance to more than 8,600 households.
