Peru Earthquake: Support the Rescue and Relief Efforts

Peru Earthquake: Support the Rescue and Relief Efforts

On August 15, the southern coast of Peru experienced an 8.0-magnitude earthquake. Early reports indicate that hundreds of people have died and more than a thousand are injured. Many buildings and homes have been destroyed, telephones and power outages are widespread, and a major highway is so damaged that it is hindering the efforts of rescue workers.

As the death toll rises and the number of injured increases, so does the public’s interest in providing relief and aid to the region. If you feel moved to help, then we recommend you consider supporting one of the charities featured here. Charity Navigator’s analysts scrutinized the finances of each of these charities and determined that each is worthy of our highest 4-star rating.
