Mission

Established in 1990, Alley Cat Allies (ACA) is the national clearinghouse for information on feral and stray cats. For more than a decade ACA has advocated Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) - the most humane and effective method to reduce feral cat populations. ACA is dedicated to advocating for nonlethal methods to reduce outdoor cat populations. ACA envisions the time when TNR and other nonlethal control measures for managing outdoor cat populations are accepted as the standard. For over fifteen years, ACA has helped thousands of individuals improve the lives of tens of thousands of stray and feral cats and kittens and has motivated and assisted hundreds of grassroots activists to found feral cat groups in their communities.
