Mission

The Orphan Foundation of America (OFA) is a passionate champion of foster youth. Founded in 1981 in a community center basement, OFA has grown to serve thousands of foster teens across the United States. OFA provides opportunities for America's foster youth to pursue their college and post-secondary education; highlights the potential of America's foster youth and shows the importance of supporting their dreams; creates pathways for citizens, businesses, and civic organizations to assist older foster youth; raises public awareness of the number and plight of older teens leaving the system; and draw attention to the bureaucratic maze of foster care.
