Mission
Established in 1969, Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) is a community organization whose mission is to alleviate hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence, and to help people achieve self-support in the Prince William area. ACTS' programs include emergency assistance; a homeless shelter; transitional housing; child care; Helpline, a 24-hour crisis hot line; Turning Points, the county's only domestic violence prevention and intervention program; and thrift stores. ACTS serves the residents of Greater Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park in Virginia. The majority of ACTS' programs are fee free to clients, and eligibility is based on HUD poverty guidelines.
