Mission

Begun in 1973, Rebuilding Together is the nation's leading organization bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners by providing free repair services for those with the greatest need. Low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, displaced or disabled, and families with children are most at risk. Rebuilding Together responds to their needs through four specific practice areas: Safe & Healthy Homes, Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction, Veterans Housing, and National Rebuilding Day ensure that homeowners live in safe, warm and dry homes. Today, the organization operates with 235 affiliates nationwide, works in 1,800 communities, and brings together more than 272,000 volunteers annually to preserve and revitalize 10,000 houses and non-profit facilities.
