Mission
Founded in 1946, Church World Service (CWS) works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and promote peace and justice among the world's most vulnerable people. Founded in 1946, CWS works with partners to meet disaster relief and recovery needs, facilitate sustainable social and economic development, provide assistance and resettlement services to refugees, and help address the root causes of poverty. CWS is the humanitarian agency of 35 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations that serves to provide nonsectarian relief and development programs for people in need.
