Mission

The mission of the American Association of the Deaf-Blind (AADB) is to ensure that all deaf-blind persons achieve their maximum potential through increased independence, productivity, and integration into the community. AADB is a national consumer organization of, by, and for deaf-blind Americans and their supporters. Our activities include providing information, referral and technical assistance on topics related to deaf-blindness; sponsoring of a listserv; an AADB/American Red Cross partnership; enhancing the quality of interpreting services for deaf-blind people, and increasing the number of interpreters qualified to work with them; national conferences; the Deaf-Blind American magazine; as well as several advocacy projects.
