Mission

The Los Angeles Police Foundation is dedicated to preventing crime, saving lives and making our community a better and safer place to live and work by assisting the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) with resources not available from the city. The Foundation was formed in 1998 to fund urgently needed programs and equipment for the LAPD, and more than $3 million in grants has been awarded to date. The Foundation funds projects dedicated to officer safety, counter terrorism, staff morale and wellness, technology, crime prevention, equipment, scholarships, training, youth programs, community relations, traffic safety, and professional standards/internal affairs.
