The mission of the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida is to overcome hunger in our communities through education and by working in a cooperative effort with affiliated agencies in the procurement and distribution of food, equitably and without discrimination. The Food Bank distributes emergency food through 130 partner agencies in five counties of Southwest Florida (Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry). Our partners include church pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after school programs serving disadvantaged children, homeless shelters, facilities for disabled adults, day care centers, senior citizen centers, and rehabilitation facilities. Each month, working with our partner agencies, the Harry Chapin Food Bank provides more than 300,000 pounds of high quality food to 20,000 needy people.
