Mission
Founded in 1969, the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) exists to serve the needs, interests and welfare of all kidney patients and their families. Its mission is to improve the lives of fellow kidney patients and their families by helping them to deal with the physical, emotional and social impact of kidney disease. AAKP is dedicated to providing patients with the education and knowledge necessary to ensure quality of life and quality of health, a support system of local chapters comprised of family members, patients and healthcare professionals, and national efforts to preserve the Medicare ESRD Program.
