Mission

The Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center's mission is to break the cycle of child abuse by equipping parents for success. Our mission resonates through our four educational and counseling programs for families at risk for abuse. Founded in 1993, the Center works to empower its clients by teaching positive parenting methods and supporting parents in strengthening their families emotionally, economically, physically, and socially. CAP is a key provider of prevention services for at-risk families and children in Dallas County. The CAP Center's programs include the Parent Aide Program, Families First Program, Shaken Baby Syndrome Education, and Healthy Families; since its founding, the Center has served more than 27,000 individuals through these programs.
