Massive 'Rim' Wildfire in California Header Image

On August 17, 2013 a fire broke out in northeastern California. Named the Rim Fire, it burned more than 224 square miles by August 25 including parts of the Stanislaus National Forest and Yosemite National Park. The U.S. Forest Service has deployed thousands of firefighters to the site.
