President & CEO's Report for March
March 1, 2009
Last month, we had our first visit to speak in Moscow. Ironically enough, the conference was about transparency and accountability. My presentation was called How an NGO can be trusted by people. My impression of what is going on over there is in the blog entry – From Russia With Love and Fear.
We were also interviewed for the first time for the Anderson Cooper show on CNN. The question was - Will the proposed reduction in the charitable deduction for the wealthy impact how much they give to charity? Our take from the data – definitely.
We are continuing our research on outcome measurement. A summary of what we have found so far is here – A Scary Finding on Outcome Measurement.
We created a Twitter account for our organization – CharityNav. In addition, in just one month we now have over 130 followers of kenscommentary on Twitter. The number of people who have become members of the Charity Navigator Cause on Facebook is over 200. Please join us and stay in touch!
A short month, with a week overseas, leads to a short report.
All the best,
Ken Berger
