All charities are "spammy", but AC needs the help

I give to several charities every year and AmeriCares is no more "spammy" than any others, it's just that most of theirs come in email rather than snail mail. From what I've read this organization does amazing things with less money than the big name charities, and in the current world climate I'm proud to have been a supporter for several years now.
I agree - they are "spammy"

I have only donated online but I get many mailed solications as well as email solications. The mailed money requests each have a $.42 stamp on the return envelope (which seems wasteful)so I just soak off the stamps & use them. Most annoying is that they have called me even though I have never given them my phone #.
Americares a little spammy

I gave Americares money last year for the first time. They proceeded to send me 12 pleas for money over the course of 2008! That might be a record number for me.

stamps & money

I was always confused about the whole fancy stamp thing cause I get those from other cahrities too, but charity navigator says they spend less than 2% on overhead so I think americares is overall super efficient. I get more stuff from others too! everyone is sending more letters asking for donations now that we all have less $$
