I got a phone call thanking me for my past donation of $40. I have checked and I have never given money to this organization, I received their mailing but I do not intend to contribute. There are a couple of phone numbers included, 800-441-1760 and 770-393-9474.
Same as sjwebster (10/23/08) posting

The telemarketers contacted me and thanked me for my previous donation and identified the amount. I assumed my wife donated, so I agreed to donate again. However, after donating, I looked back at my online records and found no evidence of having donated in the past to this charity. I suspect that the fundraising telemarketers used information from previous donations we made to other charties... 1. The call came from the same phone number that I received a call from to donate to another well-known charity a few weeks ago. 2. The amount they indicated I gave before to this charity happens to be the same as I just gave to the other charity. In the future I won't agree to a donation until I have checked the charity out.

Dear snhfmh08, Since you have the inside information, instead of making a blanket statement of "it's not true" can you give us an answer to why Children's Wish Foundation has zero stars and why they spend over half of the money donated to pay a company to raise funds for them? The information I have found seems to show the foundation is collecting money for other purposes. I have also read they were involved in a failed lawsuit last year. Who is paying the bills for this? Are they using money donated for the kids for this purpose? People have the right to know if the money they are donating to the children, is actually going to them and not lining an attorney's pocket. When I donate to a charity, I look to see how they spend the money they raise, i.e., how much actually goes to the programs. It appears this foundation spends over half of our donations on fundraising costs, that doesn't leave much for the kids. Just looking for some answers.
Thanks
what???

When is the last time this organization granted a wish? People are still donating to it, but where is all the money going?

this charity called me and identified themselves as a charity I had donated to in the past. I had not and would like to contact them to say I will not be giving but am unable to find a phone number. Anyone have one??

I encourage the use of the CHARITY SEARCH to compare the different "wish" foundations as to their spending of the money donated to them.

I requested by letter in 2004 that I be removed from further solicitations after seeing on this web site their poor performance. Has not worked. Seems like a get quite a few such solicitations from The Heritage Company who are their fundraisers for other similar charities who are not doing so well either. Received a letter in the mail over the weekend and yet they called first thing this moring. THAT'S where the money goes! Hopefully thse comments are passed on the the charities? I am going to try emailing Heriatge directly to try and remove my name again. Once you donate to one of the chrities handled by them, you find yourself on many charities lists.
