Houston Food Bank

Filling pantries. Filling lives.

WARNING: $ to this bank does NOT feed the hungry

I am a hungry Houstonian, and have direct personal experience with the Houston Food Bank. I have met with members of this bank in person on more than one occasion, in addition to speaking and corresponding with staff at this bank numerous times.

They are currently inviting the public to assist them in lobbying for a farm bill which would supply them along with other agencies, with more money.

There is just one problem with that type of lobbying: It does not translate into food for the hungry.

Yet when I let them know that the current farm bill money is not translating into food for hungry people like me, they remained unfazed.

I asked them to update their language to include accountability back to the hungry people they falsely hold out to an unsuspecting public that they serve. I was met with apathy.
