An online charity connecting you to classrooms in need
Most satisfying donation

This charity provides a fantastic platform for teachers to request materials and supplies for their classroom (although it's sad that our government cannot live up to this). Every fully funded project comes complete with project cost sheet, so you see exactly where every dollar of your donation went. I got a thank you package from the students whose project I funded: hand-drawn and colored thank you cards, along with photos of the students posing with their new school supplies. It was the most touching and satisfying donation I've ever made, and convinced me to do this on a periodic basis.

Great charity!

Donorschoose is an amazing charity. I've been a school teacher for the past three years and donorschoose has really helped out my classroom, and my school at large. I've been able to do amazing things with my students which I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. I got Rosetta Stone for my French classroom, class sets of books that our school didn't have the money to order, and more. One of my colleagues was even able to bring a Shakespeare play to our school all because of donors that gave to her project on donorschoose. At times my school doesn't even have enough money for copy paper, so it's amazying that there's a website out there that is allowing teachers to take care of the needs of our students despite the economic crisis. Also, I've volunteered at donorschoose before and it's really not a luxurious organization. They're not wasting money on anything. (They don't even have carpet in the New York office...the floor is concrete.) They are purely focused on helping out classrooms. In summary, they're just a really, really good organization.
