Within the last year A 2nd Cup has increased the budget and opportunities for professional development within our staff. This includes leadership development for our senior staff through conferences and seminars as well as opportunities for our barista staff to expand and hone their craft.

As pillars of our mission, A 2nd Cup is committed to educating our community on the issue of trafficking and partnering with our ally organizations to strengthen our collective impact. We have served and educated over 78,000 Houstonians through our shop and have held over 360 human trafficking awareness events in our shop since 2015. We work to be a hub of action in our community and have spent hundreds of hours working alongside our allies to engage the public to take action.

Our organization changed and adapted in ways we never imagined over the last year. We took on things we never expected, including providing household and pantry staples such as paper towels and yeast through our Pandemic Pantry, to launching the 11th street market to highlight local entrepreneurs. We also reinvented our programming to provide and entirely virtual experience. Although our plans for growth and impact experienced a temporary disruption, we ended the year as inspired and energized as ever to use the things we've learned and new friendships we've made to continue this work.
