Mission

The American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Its mission is to advance the values of Family Medicine by promoting humanitarian, educational and scientific initiatives that improve the health of all people. Through its humanitarian programs, the AAFP Foundation strives to improve health, provide medical education, and foster the development of family medicine worldwide. The Foundation's Scientific programs support medical research through grant awards and seminars for residents and students. The Foundation's programs also include education programs; support for the Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium (FMPC), and support for the Center for the History of Family Medicine (CHFM).
