Mission
TLC for Children and Families, formerly known as Temporary Lodging for Children, works to provide opportunities that encourage positive growth and change for children, youth and families while ensuring a safe environment. TLC was founded in 1972 to fulfill an unmet need in our community, a need for an emergency shelter for abused and neglected children from infancy through age 18. Through the years, TLC has expanded its services to children in crisis to further our mission. TLC strives for the preservation and healing of families by providing services, to the extent allowed by our resources, that compliment existing community services while maintaining responsiveness to changing community needs.
