Mission

The East Coast Greenway Alliance, a national organization located in Wakefield, Rhode Island, partners with local, state and national agencies and organizations to promote the establishment, stewardship, and public enjoyment of a traffic-free multi-user trail linking cities and towns from Maine to Florida. The East Coast Greenway is the nation's first long-distance--3,000 miles--urban trail system; a city-to-city transportation corridor for cyclists, hikers, and other non-motorized users. The Alliance sets the vision, defines clear criteria for the kind of trail to be created, provides the needed coordination among the many players who will develop, own, and manage the trail, and undertakes the needed promotion to get this idea moving ahead and to get the public out using the trail.
