Mission

Established in 1999, the MPD (Myeloproliferative Disorders) Foundation stimulates original research in pursuit of new treatments and eventually a cure for polycythemia vera, primary myelofibrosis and essential thrombocythemia. Myeloproliferative disorders are a closely related group of hematological malignancies in which the bone marrow cells that produce the body's blood cells develop and function abnormally. The MPD Foundation promotes collaboration in the scientific community to accelerate research, and serves as a powerful advocacy group for patients and their families. To date, the Foundation has raised over five million dollars for MPD research.
