Organization Mission
During the most difficult times in a child's medical journey, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern Wisconsin has been there to provide families with a comfortable place to stay close to the care they need. Over the past 39 years, our Ronald McDonald House has created a compassionate community of support for more than 52,000 families who have traveled from 49 different countries, all 50 states and 68 Wisconsin counties. They have found comfort, strength and a sense of hope thanks to our dedicated staff, volunteers and the support from other guest families facing similar challenges. We know what it means to be a "light in a dark place" as one of our guest parents once described us. In addition to 84 private guest rooms with comfortable beds, we provide our families with healthy meals, engaging programs, spacious common areas and so much more. And we continue to be responsive to the changing needs of our families, meeting each challenge with a unique combination of head & heart. This is best evidenced by the recent expansion of our facilities, which includes 14 new and more spacious long-term guest rooms for families who expect to stay 60+ days for their children’s treatment, an ADA-compliant kitchen, and a multi-ability playground in a backyard with walkways designed to help every child and family engage with the playground and sport court. Today, we are serving more families in new and innovative ways, helping them meet basic needs while enabling them to stay close together and create special memories during a difficult time. Research from our global charity reports that RMHC® programs like ours – the ones that support the whole family – result in better health care for pediatric patients.
