Mission

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, the only private medical school in the Greater Southwest, was founded in 1900 and is recognized as a premiere academic health science center and is known for excellence in education, research and patient care. BCM is committed to being a national leader in advancing human health through the integration of patient care, research, education, and community service. BCM has 25 departments and more than 90 research and patient-care centers. Located in the Texas Medical Center, a 1,000-acre complex housing 46 independent institutions, BCM has affiliations with eight teaching hospitals, each known for medical excellence.
