Mission

The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis exists by raising funds for charitable purposes, and making grants to nonprofit organizations that help improve the quality of life in our community. The Foundation, one of almost 700 community foundations in the United States, was founded in 1969 by a group of business leaders. Since that time, we have awarded more than $375 million in grants. We manage assets of more than $300 million and house and maintain more than 950 charitable funds.
