Mission

The East Bay Community Foundation is the leading resource for information about charitable giving and community needs in the East Bay region. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for the people of Alameda and Contra Costa counties through effective grant making and community-building initiatives. The Foundation connects donor interests to community needs and opportunities utilizing community knowledge and leadership. Since our founding in 1928, more than 400 funds and endowments have been established at the Foundation. Last year we granted $36.7 million to nonprofit organizations, and today, charitable assets total more than $285 million.
