Mission

Founded in 1898, Northeastern University (NU) is a private research university located in the heart of Boston, and a leader in interdisciplinary research, urban engagement, and the integration of classroom learning with real-world experience. We offer a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees through the doctorate in six undergraduate colleges, eight graduate schools, and two part-time divisions. Each year, NU awards about 3,000 undergraduate degrees and 1,600 graduate and professional degrees and certificates. Northeastern's undergraduate programs offer 80 majors and concentrations, more than 30 dual majors, and 16 interdisciplinary majors and minors; NU also has more than 125 graduate programs, ranging from doctoral degrees to professional degrees and certificates.
