Mission

Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) is one of the only institutions in the U.S. solely dedicated to producing new plays and musicals; MTC develops and presents works of the highest quality by both established and emerging American and international playwrights and is committed to bringing theatre to the widest possible audience. Founded in 1970, MTC now includes a subscriber base of 20,000 and produces seven plays a year in Broadway's recently restored Biltmore Theatre on West 47th Street and at the historic New York City Center complex on West 55th Street. MTC's many laurels include 16 Tony Awards, five Pulitzer Prizes, 45 Obies and 27 Drama Desk Awards.
