Mission

Founded in 1971, San Francisco Parks Trust (SFPT), formerly known as Friends of Recreation & Parks, is committed to improving and sustaining our park system. SFPTworks to develop and cultivate a wider public interest in recreation and parks and related leisure time activities, to contribute to their support and to further recreation, education and participation within San Francisco, and to generate financial support for the recreation and parks department. In addition we head the campaign to restore the Conservatory of Flowers, the National Historic Landmark operated by the city's recreation and parks department, which was closed due to the severe windstorm that damaged the building in 1995.
