Mission

The Alumni Association of the University of Virginia was formed in 1838 to aid, strengthen, and expand in every proper and useful way the University of Virginia and its work, and to develop, strengthen, and utilize the bonds of interest, sympathy and affection existing between the University and its alumni and among the alumni themselves. The many activities of the Association include publication of Virginia: The University of Virginia Magazine - the University's official alumni publication; maintenance of Alumni Hall, headquarters at the University for alumni; sustenance and support of a club system throughout the world; special involvement in the admissions program of the University; the upkeep of records on more than 140,000 living University alumni; career services for alumni; and housing and supporting the U.Va. Fund and other activities.
