Mission

Founded in 1975, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano works to alleviate hunger by providing an efficient, coordinated system for collecting and distributing food that reduces food waste and increases public awareness regarding hunger and food security issues. In 1995, the food bank in Concord merged with the food bank in Solano County and formed the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. We presently serve over 98,000 people every month, and distribute about 9.6 million pounds a year, enough food for 7.68 million meals.
