Mission

Since opening in May 2002, the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts has been a shining star in Houston's downtown Theater District. The mission of the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is to serve the community as a privately operated and maintained institution that will provide premier venues for resident companies and other professional and community attractions; to broaden the range, quality and accessibility of cultural fare available to the public; to encourage distinctive arts education and outreach programs; to contribute to the cultural quality of life in Houston, Harris County and the region. The Hobby provides the ultimate experience for cultural-connoisseurs with two opulent, acoustically distinguished theaters - the 2,650 seat Sarofim Hall, and the 500 seat Zilkha Hall.
