Mission
Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park operates in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, relying solely on visitor admissions, memberships and donations, gift center sales and special events to preserve public access to the estate. When visiting the Park, one can delight in the international flavor of horticultural design envisioned by garden founder Mary Clark Thompson nearly 100 years ago, as you take in thousands of perennials, annuals and other plants on display across the grounds. The display gardens and structures remain showplaces of early twentieth century horticultural and architectural styles.
