Mission

Vermont Public Interest Research and Education Fund (VPIREF) is the education and outreach arm of the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG). VPIRG is Vermont's leading watchdog and advocacy organization. Supported by members since 1972, VPIRG's mission is to promote and protect the health of Vermont's environment, people, and locally-based economy. By informing and mobilizing individuals and communities across the state, we bring the voice of citizens to public policy debates that shape the future of Vermont. VPIREF works to produce independent research and educate the public about public interest issues.
