Mission

The mission of the Charleston Animal Society (CAS) is to ensure that every domestic animal resides in an environment that provides protection, love, activity and nourishment. We have been in existence helping animals in Charleston for over 128 years, and we are Charleston's only full service adoption center. We house over 12,000 abandoned neglected and abused animals each year. In March of 2008, CAS opened its new state-of-the-art center for animals. The new 31,000 square foot facility has climate controlled rooms, natural light, 140 cat kennels, 162 dog kennels, a small animal room, large outdoor play and exercise areas, surgical suites, a spay/neuter clinic, get-acquainted rooms and multi-purpose meeting and education spaces.
