Mission

The Lexington Humane Society (LHS) advocates the compassionate treatment of animals; educates the community on responsible, lifelong pet ownership; and promotes adoption as the best option when searching for a new pet. Our adoption specialists are trained to help you find the perfect furry friend (or sometimes even feathered or scaly), while our Finders-Keepers program is designed to help you maintain a healthy, lifelong relationship with your new best friend. We believe that in order to strengthen animal welfare, education is key. It is extremely important to be a responsible pet owner and to recognize the significance of making a life-long commitment to provide your pet a safe and loving home environment.
