Mission

The Yellowstone Park Foundation was created in 1996 by a group of concerned citizens, working with the National Park Service, to protect, preserve, and enhance Yellowstone National Park. The Foundation works to fund important projects and programs which are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service. Since its inception, the Yellowstone Park Foundation has successfully funded more than 145 projects in Yellowstone. Yellowstone is the world's first national park. Since its creation in 1872, it has served as a universal symbol of wildness, mystery, and natural beauty.
