Mission
Established in 1984 by Dr. Robert Ritch, The Glaucoma Foundation (TGF) is the premier organization committed to leading the fight against glaucoma and to identifying new treatments and cures. Research holds great promise for the three million Americans and 67 million people worldwide who suffer from glaucoma. Imagine a future in which it is possible to: protect nerve cells from damage; regenerate eyesight lost from glaucoma; predict one's risk for glaucoma before the disease appears; and to prevent glaucoma from developing at all. The Glaucoma Foundation's goal is to transform these possibilities into sight-saving breakthroughs that will improve the quality of life for current and future generations.
