Mission

Founded in 1969, the Agape Foundation raises and distributes funds to groups working for nonviolent social change. Agape provides seed grants, loans and fiscal sponsorship to organizations addressing the following six areas: peace, human rights, environmental protection, economic justice, progressive arts and media, and grassroots organizing support. The Agape Foundation expresses its commitment to a just and peaceful world by funding the nonviolent social change organizations that will create that world. Unlike social services that aid and assist individuals, social change efforts confront the root causes of social problems by challenging the responsible systems and institutions. It is in this way that Agape works to create a just and peaceful world.
