Mission

United Way of Whatcom County's mission is to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another. We partner with people and organizations throughout the community. We engage donors, businesses, nonprofits and ordinary citizens to tackle the issues that matter most. Our Community Safety Net is made of 30 local partner agencies who meet high standards of effectiveness and efficiency and deliver lasting results. We have moved beyond simply being an annual fundraiser and have mobilized our volunteers and agencies around a common impact agenda. As a leader in building a stronger community, we have convened local experts and leaders within four prioritized areas: Food and Shelter, Youth and Families, Health and Wellness, and Safety and Intervention.
