Mission

Since 1983, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh has been fulfilling its mission - to nurture children's innate joy, creativity, and curiosity - while focusing on gross motor development, language arts skills, health education, self-esteem, and personal responsibility. We provide developmentally appropriate exhibits, programs and opportunities for play both inside and outside the Museum; additionally, we serve as a resource for families and build meaningful partnerships with schools and community groups. Each year, thousands of children, parents, grandparents, and teachers explore hands-on exhibits, enjoy original artwork by native Pittsburghers, and take part in performances, storytelling, and artistic demonstrations.
