Mission

Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI), founded by lifelong community resident Tony Hopson, has been helping children and families in Portland's inner city make their lives positive and purposeful since 1981. SEI is dedicated to guiding underserved youth to realize their full potential. Working with schools, families and community organizations, SEI provides opportunities for personal and academic success, bringing hope to individual young people and enhancing the quality of community life. SEI programs include in-school services (academic mentoring and tutoring), after-school programming, an academic summer program and a charter middle school.
