Mission

The mission of the American Lung Association of the District of Columbia (ALADC) is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health in the District of Columbia through advocacy, research and public, patient and professional education. While most ALADC programs focus on asthma and tobacco control, we also provide expertise in other program areas, including air pollution, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis and sarcoidosis. Our services include: providing the latest information on lung health, medications and medical treatments through printed materials; smoking cessation programs for adults and teenagers; and Camp Happy Lungs for asthmatic children.
