Mission

Founded in 1978, Corazón builds families by enabling service, promoting self-sufficiency and inspiring mutually beneficial relationships across borders. The familia Corazón program was conceived and developed in 1995 as an overall approach to help families escape poverty while building a stronger community. By working on neighborhood projects, participants earn hours that they can exchange for many of their basic needs as well as become eligible for scholarships for their children and job training for themselves. Today, Corazón has built over 800 new homes and repaired hundreds more, as well as provided annual scholarships to thousands of students. The familia Corazón program is currently assisting over 500 families in five communities in Baja California.
